The Perdrix ridge (1432 m)

August 12, 2013: Hiking at the top of the Pilat.

The route is spotted by red points on the map.

Going through Rochetaillée, you have to turn around to see the old castle in this way.

The top of the Pilat is covered with blueberries. This little wild fruit is delicious, and the month of August is ideal for picking it. By hand, it can however be long, which is why there are special combs for the large quantity of blueberries. Unfortunately, I am not equipped, and I will take half an hour to collect 200 grams and, later, make it jam.

From the Perdrix ridge, where there is an orientation table, we have, if the weather permits, a magnificent view of the Alps, from the Mont Blanc (in the center of the photo) to the Mont Ventoux (right and in Outside) and, in the foreground, the Oeillon ridge, which welcomes a transmitter, and the Bote ridge, where there is a military construction. From this point, where we take advantage of a deserved break to admire the landscape and find our way with the orientation table, we leave at the starting point by the same route. You shouldn't drag too much because there are a total of 38 kilometers of walking. But in August night falls again late...
